Over the past four years Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has invested several hundred thousand dollars in the area of curriculum and culturally related resources for Aboriginal students and their teachers.  Resources, including text books, digital media, Ojibwe and Oji-Cree, reflecting the unique make-up of both Treaty 3 and Treaty 9 students have been acquisitioned.  In addition, Native studies teachers provide programming in KPDSB secondary schools as well as Native language teachers in both elementary and secondary schools strive to meet the unique learning needs of Aboriginal students.

Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) designed strictly for Native studies and Native language teachers are provided four times per year to support Aboriginal content into mainstream Ontario curriculum.
